“Reading is an intimate ritual, that a book is a mirror that offers us only what we already carry inside us, that when we read, we do it with all our heart and mind, and great readers are becoming more scarce by the day.”
— Carlos Ruiz Zafón, The Shadow of the Wind

Deep Rut

March 16, 2022

I’m not calling this a “proj3ct”. I think it’s a taboo to a weak-willed person like me. If I set a huge goal like “365 daily snaps”, you’ll find cobweb here soon, way before it even takes off.

At first, borders close. Then everyone starts working from home. I tell myself, it’s fine, I can still find something interesting to do in my own backyard. Before I know it, I’m stuck in a rut. The more I procrastinate, the stronger this invisible force ties me down .

Confined in a small box, the rut slowly becomes your best friend.

The thing with motivation is, it’s just like an engine. Abandoned for a long time, it becomes rusty and the rhythm is lost. Gotta keep that engine moving.

Unleashed

Unlock the door, step out, and shoot away.

May this be a daily thing. Mundane, monotonous, uneventful. Doesn’t matter. I’d love to be able to go hiking and shooting grand vistas all the time. But for now, I shall relax and enjoy the mundaneness.
